On Wednesday, April 12, staff and children at Windermere Kids participated in the 3rd annual HOP for Muscular Dystrophy. Green Apple Kids held their own HOPathon on Thursday involving their staff and families.
Together, both centres raised over $5,000 in donations! In fact, Green Apple Kids was the top team in all of Canada! All of the proceeds of the event are going directly to Muscular Dystrophy Canada which provides information, support, equipment and other services for people living with more than 150 different types of neuromuscular disorders.
It’s important to us to lead by example and show our children how great it feels to give back to the community. In fact, our older preschoolers got to learn a little bit about what Muscular Dystrophy is and how it affects the people who suffer from it.
At both events, the children had a blast decorating their own little bunny ears, eating ‘rabbit’ snacks, and hopping about to the music. Check out their cute little ears.
As well, our Windermere children got treated to an awesome visit from Station 425’s firefighters who most definitely stole the show. Thank you for stopping by!
We also want to thank the families that were able to stop by and join in on the fun. It is always a pleasure for us to spend more time with you.
A huge special thank you goes out to everyone who donated or helped raise money for this great cause. If you didn’t get a chance to join in, it’s not too late! Join Green Apple’s team page here or Windermere’s team page here.
