At Green Apple Kids, we pay particular attention to our children’s cuisine (and a significant premium) because we believe
so strongly in nourishing growing minds and helping young ones adopt good eating habits for life. According to dietitians at
the provincial agency, EatRight Ontario.
Positive early childhood experiences regarding food and the social environment in which children eat are critical to the
development of healthy eating habits later in life.
With this in mind, we have partnered with an amazing organization, Real Food for Real Kids, to bring your child healthy
meals and snacks made from scratch and delivered in a “family style” environment.
Real Food for Real Kids is the leading child-focused catering program in Canada. It shares our philosophy to choose fresh
and organic foods, produced locally and ethically wherever possible.
This means no artificial colours, flavouring, sweetening, trans-fats, antibiotics or hormones. Nothing is processed, canned
or pre-packaged. Instead, your child gets a variety of unadulterated whole food, prepared daily. Our cuisine is free of the
most common allergens, very low on the glycemic index, and high in omega 3 fatty acids, which play a vital role in
children’s nutrition. Food alternatives are provided for children with allergies or dietary restrictions.
Aside from filling small tummies with natural and nutritious foods, our cuisine is served in small group settings that
encourage each child to eat a variety of diverse, often ethnically inspired foods. Many of our parents credit Green Apple
Kids for helping their children become good eaters.
As a responsible citizen in the larger community, we strive to generate long-term benefits – not only for our children and
families, but also for local farmers and producers who are as committed to sustainability as we are.
